  • I am incredibly grateful for Joe, who has been an outstanding guide throughout my journey to PA school. Joe created a safe and supportive learning environment where it was okay to make mistakes, always balancing his mentorship with a great sense of humor that always made for a fun time! He has the inside scoop on navigating PA schools and helped me choose which ones to prioritize which can be a daunting process on its own. His willingness to be constantly available for questions and advice was invaluable, and his exceptional letter of recommendation was a significant highlight of my PA school application, even being mentioned in my interview. I have never met someone so dedicated to helping students succeed whether that was a pre-PA student like me or a PA student on clinical rotations- he challenges you to be better and step outside of your comfort zone with unwavering support from his end. Joe’s support and belief in my potential have been truly inspiring, and I look forward to carrying the lessons I’ve learned from him into PA school!

  • I was extremely lucky to be introduced to Joe early on in my journey to becoming a PA student. He graciously connected me with other PA’s to shadow and also gave me my much needed start in patient care. If anyone is willing to let you learn how to draw blood on them, you know that they truly care about your success! Joe was able to teach me so much in a short amount of time and I am truly grateful for his wisdom and guidance. Not only was his training crucial to my patient care experience, but it was especially helpful during my time applying to PA school. The application process alone is quite intimidating, and it is so helpful to know someone that can offer their insight at every step. If you are looking for a fantastic mentor to guide you throughout your journey to becoming a PA, I can assure you that you want Joe in your corner!

I don’t think there is a question he can’t provide an answer to! He is a highly respected PA and has extensive knowledge about the PA profession. He is dedicated to helping others along the difficult path to PA school and provides you with much needed encouragement. He has encouraged me to challenge myself, and his belief in me along the way has been invaluable! Thanks to his guidance and encouragement, I am set to start PA school in January '25. I cannot recommend Joe enough for anyone seeking a dedicated mentor who genuinely cares about their success.

  • Joe has made an indescribable difference in my journey to applying to PA school. Applying to PA school has always felt like a daunting task-- but after working with Joe and receiving his advice, I feel more prepared than ever. I am now confident in my ability to tackle PA school in the near future. Working with Joe has shown me that he is willing to answer any question you could have. He goes above and beyond to give a thoughtful and thorough response, and will find a way to make sure you understand his explanation. I have found myself becoming a far better medical professional every day that I work with him. I have watched Joe mentor countless students and educate students he has been a preceptor for. Joe puts his everything into the students he mentors, and the fruits of his labors continue to be apparent in the competency that every student that has worked with him walks away with.

    — Linzi, pre-PA (Georgia)

  • Joe has been an incredibly helpful mentor. I had the opportunity to shadow Joe my junior year of college right before applying to PA school. Right off the bat, he took me under his wing and taught me an abundance about medicine. He walked me through his thought process of each diagnosis, taught me how to read and perform labs, and gave me great tips regarding the application process to PA school. Once I started the PA school interview process, he prepared me to tackle any interview that came my way! I could not thank Joe enough for his willingness and determination to help those going into, or currently in, the PA field!

He has challenged me to be the best medical professional I can be and really cares about me as a person. He’ll be honest with you and tell you what you really need to know. I’m so grateful for Joe!

  • Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!"

  • I have known Joe in all stages of my healthcare career. From when I was working as a medical assistant and trying to get in to PA school, during PA school and after as a PA. His mentorship and advice has helped me every step of the way. Whether it was helping me write my personal statement, prepping me for school interviews, guiding me through study habits and tactics in school and even what to look for when applying for my first job as a PA. His guidance has been invaluable and I advanced in my goals whenever I heeded his advice. I have been blessed to consider him both a mentor and a friend and could not recommend him more in helping you with your goals in healthcare and personal growth.

  • Joe has the brain of an AI robot but the heart of your best friend in the whole world. Joe’s priceless guidance and encouragement since beginning my PA School journey in 2020 has been a constant source of support and wisdom every step of the way - from providing me with shadowing opportunities, to writing a letter of recommendation, as well as checking in with me throughout didactic and clinical years. I am incredibly thankful for the mentorship that Joe has provided me in life, academically, and professionally. I know for a fact that I would not be where I am today if it weren't for Joe and the work that he has put into my development as a future PA.

    — Ellen, PA-S (Georgia)

  • I had the privilege of shadowing/working with Joe during my Pre-PA career at UGA. His comprehensive knowledge of medical procedures is truly impressive and so is his dedication to his students, patients, and the medical field. He thoroughly explained concepts and techniques, providing invaluable insights into PA aspects that can’t be learned from a textbook. His approachable demeanor and willingness to teach made the learning experience so valuable to me. Thanks to Joe’s mentorship, I undoubtedly was better prepared going into my didactic year. I would recommend learning with Joe (and already have) to any other Pre-PA or current PA students. I am well into my didactic year of PA school and still reach out to Joe for advice and guidance. I am so fortunate to have him as a forever mentor. Definitely no Average Joe!!

    — Hildy, PA-S (Georgia)

  • I am so grateful for Joe's advice, patience and willingness to share his personal experiences to help me through my journey changing careers, completing prerequisites and applying to PA programs. I attended undergrad with Joe, so for years, he has been the standout example of a disciplined student who balanced academics with worthwhile extracurricular activities and meaningful relationships. Simply being a great student does not necessarily mean a person will apply that knowledge and experience and take the time to help a learner in a different situation. However, Joe absolutely has the patience and empathy to understand your context as a pre-PA student—in addition to dozens of hours spent precepting and instructing as an adjunct. He has been a valuable and understanding mentor, and his involvement with advisory and interview boards and as a lecturer means Joe always has relevant responses to my many questions.
